Mizuno - HANON
We Joined HANON to celebrate the release of the Wave Mujin TL GTX.
As lovers of all things outdoor-ready, it's fitting that local footwear heavyweights HANON asked us to help them mark the release of the Mizuno Wave Mujin TL GTX. So, to put the shoe to good use, we set out for Burn O' Vat, a glacial pothole and hideaway shrouded in mysticism, which naturally formed deep in the Cairngorms over 10,000 years ago.
Following AW21's Wave Mujin TL release, the GTX (GORE-TEX for those not in the know) version shifts from leather to a thermo-technical transfer layer. It represents the combination of a running-inspired upper based on unreleased sketches from famed illustrator and designer Tuan Lee and a high-tech Michelin performance sole fresh from Mizuno's top trail running range.
The shoe, which comes in a Sage/Wind Chime/Agate Grey colourway, lent itself perfectly to the muted expanse of the 'Vat' and benefits from a distinctly outdoor feel akin to more inline trail and approach shoes. Of course, we're not suggesting many will look to make this their next dedicated outdoor shoe, but it's comforting knowing it has all the attributes needed to be just that, should you wish.
The result pervades the Mizuno aesthetic by delivering a shoe that balances muted colours and a modern outdoor style. It readies itself for any adventure through the clever use of best-in-class technology and materials.
The Wave Mujin TL GTX is perfect for those with an explorer mindset; the GORE-TEX membrane ensures excellent waterproofness, and the rugged Michelin sole can take you anywhere over just about any terrain, whether the street or the trail. Its release is sure to whet the appetite of outdoor adventurers and street-style connoisseurs alike, making it an exciting spectacle for Mizuno fans, old and new.
