Descente ALLTERRAIN

We recently ventured to the Pentland Hills to test out gear from the Japanese sportswear label Descente ALLTERRAIN.

Trekking up the hills and through the woods, an occasional ray of sunshine pierced through the dark, ominous-looking clouds. As the day progressed, the rain began to fall, with the gear providing perfect shelter from the elements. The conditions tested the products ideally, and their functionality shined through as we made our way through the hills. We tested the Mizusawa Down Jacket ‘Mountaineer’ and Streamline Airy Hard Shell Jacket.

The Mizusawa Down Jacket is exceptionally waterproof with its non-quilted thermal bonding and seam tape construction. It boasts a unique Parahood system that prevents snow or water from pooling around the neck and can be kept closed when not in use. A mesh panel between dual front zips draws in air from outside to prevent uncomfortable heat and moisture build-up.

The Streamline Airy Jacket is a hard shell that uses DERMIZAX ®️ FLOATECH NYLON 3L fabric, which has impressive elasticity, is lightweight and has a water pressure resistance of 20,000mm, meaning it performs excellently even in significant downpours. In addition, in rainy weather, streamlined technology designed on the chest controls and suppresses water flow to the pockets.
